In recent weeks I had sent our communications only to those who had indicated that they will attend the reunion. However, now that we are getting close to this exciting event, I want to include as many as possible. To those of you who cannot come, we hope to include you by means of the website that Bob Bosen has been maintaining. He is bringing a digital videocamera and will take film clips and still shots each day of the reunion. Then he will try to get onto the Internet from Spain to post the pictures and film clips for you to check out. If this works, you will be able to see old friends and view the reunion each day. After the reunion, we will try to gather additonal pictures to post on the web site. Check it out at: http://members.tripod.com/~bbosen/spain.htm In addition, we know that KSL is sending a reporter to cover the Temple dedication. You might have seen the interview that was done with David Drorbaugh during the Tabernacle Choir tour of Spain last summer. That was televised between sessions of October General Conference. This reporter will be attending our dinner on Friday and the reception on Saturday. We think that a report will be televised at April General Conference. For those of you who have not yet comitted but are sitting on the fence - IT IS NOT TOO LATE! The airline fares are still cheap, you can still get rooms in Madrid, and you can join the approximately 150 people who are already signed up. We would be thrilled to have more of our mission family there. This is going to be an unforgettable experience, an opportunity that will never be repeated. Think about it. Call me at work (925-974-1604) or my home (925-229-9949) for more information about the reunion. Call Doug Barnes at Salt Lake Travel Service (801-364-2211 or 800-365-3514) for airline and hotel reservations and to sign up for the bus tours we will be taking. Call the Temple Department to get tickets to the 10:30 AM Sunday dedication session (space is still available in the Stake Center next door). Come on - just do it!!!! For those who have committed but not yet sent your check , I would appreciate your calling me to let me know it's on the way. I have to have a count for the caterers by Saturday. Here's a recap of the information previously sent: Here is some information that many of you have been asking for: 1) Hotel Emperador Gran Via 53 Madrid 28013 Phone 011-34-91-547-2800 (About 36 families here) 2) Hotel El Coloso (Near the Emperador) Leganitos 13 Madrid 011-34-91-559-7600 3) Both hotels are very near the Santo Domingo Metro stop on line 2 4) The mission reunion dinner will be Friday March 19 from 6 to 9 pm. From 6 to 7 we will sign everyone in, have light refreshments and get reacquainted. Around 7 the buffet dinner will start,, to be followed by a short but fun program featuring President Barnes and a few others. On Saturday night we will meet starting at 6 PM with Spanish members, former missionaries, and former Mission Presidents of all eras. This will be a large gathering! Both events will take place at the Church building located at Pablo Iglesias 22. This is within a few hundred yards of the Cuatro Caminos Metro stop. 5) The Temple is very close to the Pavones Metro station. I suggest we depart as a group from the Santo Domingo Metro stop near the Hotel Emperador. 6) For those going on the tours, the tour bus will depart from the Hotel Emperador. Friday at 1 PM and Saturday at 8:30 AM. Please get there 15 minutes early so we can check everyone in and not have to wait for latecomers. 7) I will FAX a schedule of activities to the Madrid Mission office at San Telmo 26 (Yes, it's the same place!) The phone number is 011-34-91-458-2634 or 011-34-91-359-2634. I plan to leave for Europe Saturday at about noon. Jean will be here to Tuesday. Please contact me if I can be of any help! Until we meet again... John Muir
